Wanna slice of Saskatoon Berry pie?
To kick off summer in Saskatoon, we've mixed up a juicy new release: our Saskatoon Berry series. You might even say it's our jam, and it's definitely our most delicious collection yet.
We also added a few new additions to our Alumni collection that compliment the colourway of this series.
Our team had a ton of fun with the marketing of these designs. We started with a day in the kitchen baking up a pie - a real one - and released a teaser video, taking guesses from our followers on what was cookin'.
Following that, we showed a little more of what we were mixing up - a gob of Saskatoon berry syrup mixed in with ink. These tees are printed with real Saskatoon Berries. ;)
Then came our big reveal - we pulled the Saskatoon Berry series fresh out of the oven and served them up. Get 'em while they're hot!
Saskatoon: Home of the Berry
This juicy print will bring back memories of stumbling across a summer goldmine; the Saskatoon Berry bush. You went home with your newfound treasures cradled in your shirt, folded up to make a basket. Childhood bliss could be defined by warm summer air and berry-stained lips.
A brief history of the Saskatoon Berry
The Saskatoon name is said to come from the Cree word, misâskwatômina (Mis-sack-qua-too-mina), which means “the fruit of the tree of many branches”.
The prairie berry's abundant local presence is where the city of Saskatoon got its name.
Saskatoon Berry Pie
If you grew up on the Prairies, you might remember foraging for Saskatoon berries in the country with your family. The smell of a Saskatoon berry pie baking in your grandparent's oven is nostalgic to many, and you just can't help but smile at the sight of a perfect slice.
To eat it or to wear it...
We took this classic Saskatchewan dessert and turned it into a delectable graphic. Best served with vanilla ice cream - eat up!
