The Saskatoon berry, named after the Cree word misâskwatômina (“fruit of the tree of many branches”), gave the city of Saskatoon its name. For Prairie locals, it evokes memories of foraging on warm summer days, berry-stained lips, and the scent of pies baking in a grandparent's kitchen.
