The Dia De Los Muertos Selvedge is a 12.5oz Japanese selvedge denim, intricately crafted to celebrate the vibrant Mexican 'Day of the Dead' tradition. This denim is woven on vintage shuttle looms in Okayama, Japan, using rope-dyed short slub yarns. This technique imparts an uneven surface texture and color tone to the fabric, which, over time, will develop high-contrast vertical fades as the indigo fades away. In keeping with its celebration of Mexican culture, this denim is made from 100% Mexican upland cotton. The selvedge ID mirrors the colorful stripes found in traditional Mexican sarape blankets, adding a touch of authenticity and cultural homage. Other details include a vegetable-tanned leather patch and pocket flasher, beautifully embellished with artwork by José Ruiz, aka Koopa, a distinguished tattoo artist from Mexico City. His artwork, depicts a skeleton being guided to the underworld by a Mexican hairless dog called the Xoloitzcuintli. Xoloitzcuintli are believed to guide the souls of the dead to the underworld. Completing the design, the jeans are accentuated with contrast stitching, and silver metallic buttons and rivets.
The Weird Guy is a regular tapered fit; medium rise, standard thigh and slight taper from the knee to hem.
